Aftermarket BSM with readout on dash

About a year ago I lost the ability to see out of my right eye. I can and have been driving but checking my rt side blind spot (literally) is a challenge. I have my mirrors angled out as they should be and that helps. A BSM that lit up my passenger side mirror would only be a little help as I can't see that mirror without turning my head.

A readout on or near the dash would be ideal. I guess as would an anytime rear view camera but don't remember where I've seen that.

Does it exist?

 

I have been blind in my left eye for 45 years due to trauma. Unfortunatly, you are going to have to adapt as best as you can. We now see everything in 2 dementions instead of 3 dementions. Depth perception is non existant. I have a 2022 SR5 with BSM and it does help me. Your main goal for the rest of your life is to protect your good eye at any costs. Safety glasses at all times is a must. Good luck.

 

My Honda civic had a camera in the right side mirror and every time I turned on my right turn signal, a live video feed appeared on the infotainment screen of that right side blind spot. This was a stock Civic.

I don’t think Toyota has anything like that, but perhaps an aftermarket option exists that you could tune with a modified wiring harness to trigger with the turn signal, just like the backup camera.

looks like they have some stuff out there. See below as an example. Tuning it to trigger with the turn signal would take someone much smarter than me though.

Sorry about your loss. Im blind in my rt eye from birth so i never missed it. As for 2D i play hockey, drag race, downhill mtb with no issues with depth perception. As for driving my trd pro has BSM but using the rear mirror then side i see things way before they get close.

May I suggest a dash cam set up with a cheap android tab somehow placed on the dash to give you more of a 180 view?

I added a brandmotion aftermarket kit to my truck you can contact them about the lights only then you could cut the factory bsm light it’s only two wires and put the brandmotion light anywhere you want. It’s really bright.



Cut these wires don’t tap into them and try to run both lights I tried it not enough power they won’t come on.

Oh thank you I will check them out. 2017 so I don't believe I would have BSM wires in place.
