    I live in NY. I have a 01 Taco 2.7 5spd

My CEL is on code says its the cat.

I would prefer to get a aftermarket cat for cost reasons. I hear that the aftermarket cats usually start spitting the Cat code after a few months.

Are there any companies that guarantee not to have code issues ?

I don't want to buy a cat and have the same issues I have right now.

    Any Ideas ?

There are a couple of companies that guarantee the CAT to not throw codes but I cannot remember them right now. However, many aftermarket CATs will throw codes on these trucks. The OEM ones are ungodly expensive so I feel your pain.

May also want to replace 02 sensors, but most of time the P420 code is the CAT (tons of threads on here about this if you search).

I had the P420 come on and I ran a bottle of Cataclean (liquid additive to the fuel that is supposed to clean the cat...go figure given the name). It was like 30 bucks for the bottle and I said what the hell instead of just replacing the cat. The CEL went off (P420) and 6 months later has not come back on. However, if your cat is breaking apart (rattle sound) then there is no hope for this to work, only if it is slightly clogged up.
    Good luck
