Another option might be a rear view mirror w/clock.

You know, I actually did look at that option. Me and a buddy had pulled a 2nd gen one. We just couldn't figure out a good place to put it that it would fit and looked halfway decent.

Part of what makes TW go is those tenacious enough to grapple with something that bugs them and not let go until it's fixed regardless of simple but unsatisfying suggestions. Meso does do the overhead switch panel as well as others, any of which could get a clock fitted.

I thought of that too. But I was refusing out of being stubborn. lol. Let me explain.

So, on the right side of the rear view mirror now, there is already a compass display. Perfectly sized that they easily could have put a clock there. Or at least had it as an option through the vehicle menu to change it to the time. And who is looking at their rear view mirror for the compass direction anyway? Even the people that DO need that information for some reason, I bet they need to know the time more often still.

So yeah. That was an option that I looked into but being stubborn stopped me from actually using that as the fix. I totally accept the blame for that.

At this point with Meso saying I can stick a clock in a TacoPod, and with my knowing how good his products are beyond a shadow of a doubt, I feel like that is going to end up being the option I go with.

But, thanks to everyone that had helpful ideas and brainstormed with the rest of us. They were all over the place tech and option wise and that was exactly what I wanted. I know at least one other person is irritated by this like I am. So now hopefully here's a good place for them to come find the right option that works for them. By all means, if someone thinks up another option or has one already, feel free to keep adding to this. I'm gonna go buy a TacoPod now though. lol.

It's just not always known who/if someone is going to go the lengths to fabricate something so "simple." Not saying its a bad idea to come up with new ideas. But we don't always expect someone to go through all the alleys to produce something practical or at large scale.

Not a problem for me, I enjoy a good puzzle. Much of my obligation at work is figuring out what the clients want and how to get it done. Short cut solutions are not the same as "elegantly simple" ones.

Same. lol. The thing here was really more finding the right piece when I wasn't sure what the right piece looked like. I needed some help finding the right pieces because I knew the ones I had were close but didn't quite fit with the rest of the picture.

My phone isn’t a droid. That charge pad does nothing for me! I’m switching that Q button to a 2 port plug/light bar switch. (Haven’t figured out priorities yet)

This clock thing is annoying in so many ways. Toyota usually will try to get you to add on expensive options at the dealer. Bed netting, cargo bars, floor mats, bumper covers, rust proof, sound shield fabric guard..... why not a clock? I think they miss out . It’s in the stereo so they assume it’s worthless. A clock/compass in the mirror is perfect or the digital windshield display would be awesome.

Seriously watch what you wish for, I know that sounds like weird. I retired and had many issues with it.
Now before many of you write about this, don't forget this is about a clock in the Tacoma. I have not a clue what a taco pod is
