If you find one that you like make sure you read the whole thing. if you are looking to buy it to prevent paying from rust issues don't. Extended warranties do not cover failure from corrosion.

Are you past 3yr/36kmi? If not, you can still get Toyota Platinum warranty.

EDIT: Price chart removed per request.

I bought a Toyota Platinum warranty from Jerry Johnson at Midwest Toyota in Kansas. It ended up saving me thousands on a new transmission, etc. Extended warranties work for some folks and they don't work for others. As we all know, it's just an insurance policy. As DTaco said, make sure you get a Toyota Platinum warranty if you get one at all.

Which dealership is this through? I’m going to hit 3 years this December and was contemplating on getting the 10yr/100k mile warranty due to all the electronics on these new trucks. Cheapest I could find was like $400 more than what you posted.

This was from Wolverine Toyota last year. Jennifer's name is all over this site...she sell a lot of these warranties.
We bought one for our Highlander from her and it was very easy.

Are you planning on having that truck for more than 10 years? If yes, the warranty makes no sense. Because, you'll be able to sell that truck for more than what you had to spend to replace an engine or transmission for.

Odds, and ends or usual repairs will not be covered by these aftermarket repair insurance policies.

A very small percentage of Toyota owners will benefit from these insurance policies .

If you can afford to pay the extra amount these insurance costs, you can afford to have the truck repaired out of pocket...if there is actually a repair needed...which there may not be the need.

My opinion is to save and invests that money. If you need to make a costly repair, just do it. The money is already set aside.

People always cite this as their reason / justification for spending money on an extended warranty. I hang around a lot of vehicle forums, including this one and I have never seen anyone talk of widespread failure of a vehicles electronics. I am not saying it could not happen, but this reasoning for buying an extended warranty indicates the buyer assumes the electronics are going to break on them within the extended warranty period. I would take that bet that the electronics will not fail and most of the time I would win that bet.

There, now you see how extended warranties work and why they are most often good for those who sell them and most ofen bad for those who wasted their money gambling.

Bought a 2007 Tacoma brand new and still own it and when I purchased the 10yr/100k mile warranty from the cheapest dealer I could find it actually saved me money. 6 years in I had to have the U joints and carrier bearing replaced, 7 years in the master cylinder blew a seal, and right before the warranty expired I had the transfer case replaced due to issues. I got my moneys worth even before the transfer case replacement if you factor in labor rates. At the end of the day it’s a gamble on if it’s actually worth it or not.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
OP specified aftermarket, which likely would have had quite a different result.

Yeah don’t go aftermarket warranty, especially if you are willing to have your truck repaired at a Toyota dealership and are expecting the use of OEM parts. If you have a trusted independent shop that specializes in your model or brand vehicle and are only wanting repairs done there then maybe an aftermarket warranty would be a solution? Not 100% never had looked into them before.
