Aftermarket fuel injectors?

Looking for a bit better mpg, and an overall happy engine, is anyone running aftermarket fuel injectors on their 1st gen? Input would be apriciated!!

Another option is to have your rebuilt, its cheaper than new ones, thats if you think they are slacking in their job.

 

It only has 105 thousand miles..... Lol

 

Im probably going to get these in the future. Idk if URD has any for 1st gens, try checking JEGS or somewhere like that.

New injectors aren't really gonna help mpgs. And neither will bigger ones.

If your worried about them put some injector cleaner in your next tank of gas.

 

My buddy put some in his Cherokee and got 4 mpg better, thought it was a good idea, maybe not

 

Id just try some cleaner first.

Although if your looking for a cheap way. Go finda some MKIII supra injectors..i believe i read those fit. Make sure they are the yellow top ones tho(from the non turbo Supra) the black top ones will be way to big.

 

I agree with this. I ran a Gumout additive awhile ago to help on my starts, and everything has run better since. Besides the tranny... but thats another story.

Not a bad idea, for the gauges. I still don't get how you can get 53 miles out of one gallon of gas?

 

I know, just think about spreading a gallon of anything over a mile. Thats barely anything.

 

I just want a happy engine, if it even gets one mpg better its worth it, especially if it runs better

The Bosh injectors should atomize much better than the OEM ones. Probably want to keep the OEM feul pump though, until you get a TRD supercharger.

 

You can't run those larger injectors without the larger fuel pump..they won't operate correctly.

I wouldnt even mess with that kit without talking to Gadget@URD if I were the OP as Im sure it will take some tuning to run right without the TRD SC .

 

Oh yea, it would be a totally different fuel map for a no SCed motor and that large of injectors. Kinda a pointless purchase IMO unless you get the SC haha
