Gents, recently bought a 2021 4x4 TRD off road short bed Tacoma.. I live at 7,500 feet and am pretty rural. Looking for budget friendly options for lift, tires and rims..I want black matte rims and don't want to get stupid on tire size. While I will be taking this off road, I won't be doing crazy shit (even though I live in Southern Utah).. I would appreciate some feedback from you all! I will be traveling to CA once a month in this truck, if that matters...Pic attached, Thanks

Welcome. I guess the first question would be do you really need a lift? Is it for looks? Budget? In stock form they are plenty capable and you can go up a tire size 265/75r16 or 265/70r17 and put a nicer AT on there.

Looks or budget (depending). I will want to explore some remote areas but I doubt I'll get too stupid. Thinking 2-2 1/2" lift. At what point on tire size do I need to worry about rubbing with that kind of lift. And what kind of lift would you recommend? Thank you much!

First and foremost, it’s your truck and your money so do whatever makes you happy. Search through some threads on lifts, suspensions, tires and wheels and you’ll be amazed at the number of options. As far as suspension and lifts, you can contact Marie at Headstrong Off-Road. I spent countless hours looking through many threads and looking at other truck builds getting ideas for my truck.

On a budget, 5100's all around and an AAL or block in the back. Should be able to accomodate 275's on that setup but will depend on your wheel offset.

Thanks. Now you're speaking a foreign language. What does that mean? I get the 275's but lost on the 5100's and AAL.. Thanks

5100's a type of adjustable shock to give front lift and then a block would be just that a cast block that gives you lift in the rear or you could add a leaf (AAL) to your current leaf pack.

No prob! Take your time, do it right the first time, no reason to just slap a cheap lift on if you can wait and save, do your research, etc.

I was told since I am ordering a new truck to keep the wheels and suspension stock and just go up a size on the tires and get so KO2 or falkens. Then later do those upgrades if I really get into it.
