Ebay. The rubber elbow on throttle body is a 4runner part. The other rubber couple is a common part. The breather hose connection is a 5/8 formed hose I picked up from O'reilly's auto parts. With 2 pvex brass union slip inside I got from home depot.

I forgot about URD's calibrator for the afm.. this would actually condition and fix the signal for a larger tube. Still, the limiting factor in drawing air through would be the stock size throttle body unless you were super charged.

    maaaaaan.

this is like every discussion ever on every vintage motorcycle group im in.

    air box or Stacks!?

its all a preference but with carbonated systems it was easier to modify your air/fuel ratio on the fly unless you know about ECU programing and EFI programing your probably wasting your time modifying your air intake system. and without a dyno you dont ever really know if your achieving anything substantial. but what that usually means is improving your HP at WOT.

I dont know. I dont really ever take my tacoma out to a track to test its lap times and drag speeds. its an adventure rig for me so im gonna keep that sweet stock paper filter that keeps 99.9% of the dust out of my engine!

Motorcycles work a little differently but gains or losses in power are more substantial with changes like that. Back when the first gen tacos were in their prime, I remember seeing dyno vids somewhere but can't for the life of me find an anymore..

id for sure be interested. but as far as I know the ecu in these trucks doesn't compensate for changes in the volume of air? thats what I was told anyways. ive just heard of people getting thrown codes about air/fuel mix being off. I only have experience in carb system tuning so I dont know lol.

Ive been running a afe intake for awhile now and never had a code thrown.
I think the main mistake is people throw a intake on and expect that to be all they need. But for a intake to full work you need headers and exhust too. Bo point of trying to suck more air in and you cant get it out ss fast as it come in. Be like putting a super charger on a a stock setup. It will work but not be as efficient as it can be.

    same on motorcycles!

ive been rebuilding a 77 cb550 all year, and thats the year the US imposed strict emissions on vehicles. the stock exhaust was soooo restrictive so the carbs only needed to sip on gas to go. its funny cause with my custom exhaust and switching the airbag out for pods my jet sizes went up from 90 to 115 but my fuel economy is better??

Yes, the box came with the air tube to the throttle body. The MAF is just inside the box on the air tube:

How well does the box seal to the elbow in the fender? Does it just kinda sit around it or does it legitimately seal?

I kept the stock system except, added a snorkel. Rarely clean my filter anymore AND it's like a forced cold air induction system.
    Never been an issue.

This hose is on backwards and can develop a leak from rubbing. Not sure if it's yours or not.

It doesn’t seal, so I bought a piece from a plumbing store and sealed it myself:

I have a 3.4 with supercharger. I also installed a shock hoop with needed crossmember where factory air box would route to the front. Any solid advise on a short or possible intake that i could make with a canister filter housing, run to the fender by firewall and still run correctly?

I have an air raid system with KN filter but my fuel trims are almost identical to your "fixed" trims on the bottom. Are you sure the aftermarket kit was working correctly? That was an extremely lean condition if it's adding 20 and 35% fuel respectively. Two other questions. First, that MAF reading of 4g/second is at idle correct? Second, 68 degrees on the intake temp, what was the ambient temp? Was the first temp of 106 on a hotter day or are we saying that the stock Toyota air box delivers cooler air? I've noticed when my truck is just sitting idling with no airflow my intake temps will get up to like 135-150. Driving 80 down the freeway my intake temp is exactly the ambient temp at that moment. Yesterday that was 115!!!!

I also am on the process of deleting all evap and running new fuel pump to a new tank in the bed. Any experience here willing to input?
