I've see a couple threads on TW that show how to cut the OEM mud flaps to prevent rubbing. I was about to go down that path and then decided on Rekgens and saved my OEMS if I decide to go back to stock. I am running 265/70/17 tires on TRD SEMA wheels with stock suspension and the only time I get some minor rubbing is in reverse on steep inclines with the wheel completely turned into the mud flap. This didn't do any damage to the tire and just made an slight abrasion on the mud flap.

Once I get the tools and time and install my suspension upgrade I don't think I will have any rubbing after a correct alignment.

I was able to eliminate the rubbing by getting my caster adjusted to 3 degrees. To me, the tire looks more centered in the fender now.

I don't have the TRD exhaust but it wasn't any issue with the stock exhaust.

For those running 32’s with mudflap rubbing, have you tried getting an alignment that moves the wheel forward?

That was all I needed to do to clear skinny 33’s (LT255/85r16) with no mudflaps.
