Seems reasonable. If not tagged, a comp will tag files as they’re downloaded. If you don’t change that order, and drag-and-drop, the numbers don’t change.

Has anyone heard of, or used, an android unit made by xtreme audio. I ran across this today and really like the easy installation and big features of the Tacoma version ($250 on sale free shipping). I just don't want to end up wishing I spent $50 more for a Kenwood. The features are shown at 9:30 of the video. The Kenwood for $300 has a dvd player that I do not need but has free installation plus a $36 Amazon kit.

Not up on it but for the basically $14 difference (the kit inclusion is why I mention that number) I'd get the Kenwood

Yes I agree that $50 more for proven Kenwood is wiser. Only want to install 1 stereo over the few couple if years. Never had a bad Kenwood or Pioneer brand.

Gonna try the new updated Atoto for $250 complete with camera, dash kit and harness. Wish me luck. Unbiased reviews look good.

At this point a transistor radio would be an improvement.

    All stock, baby!
Crazy enough, Napster is still an entity. Or rather, Real Networks became Rhapsody, which later rebranded itself as Napster. I'm still subscribed and use it relatively often, but I assume several other services are better overall.

Well I spent tonight wiring, soldering and shrink wrapping all my camera and head unit connections and adapters (work bench stuff). Will start installing tomorrow. Just waiting for a dual usb extension socket to replace my cigarette lighter. That should be here tomorrow afternoon. Hoping to just quick tap my reverse light wires to the camera since this is only planned as a reverse camera and not an anytime camera. Looks like pulling and fishing the long camera cables, placing the external mic and soldering the reverse hu trigger will be the worst parts of the job.

I'll leave this here. I just chucked a cheapie one in my car. At min just make sure you have 4gb ram if you're trying to be as cheap but still work possible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a20IYUrkllE

Edit: also mine was less than $150 (the damn can-bus adapter I needed for that car was a hot $80 anyways) Compared to stock, it's just as good, only thing I hate or need to fix is the screen glare is absurdly bad. Been meaning to order an anti-glare film/protector thing for it. This is a budget build though, trying to be as cheap as I can but also not hang garbage parts.

Installed the Atoto. It may be only 2 gb but works fine for me. Glad to have wifi, nav and a rear camera again. My usb tunes sound great. Install was cake. With zero adjustments made it already has better sound than my 3rd gen entune premium (poor comparison) and, for once, I can actually hear my rear access cab speakers.20220621_161721.jpg 20220621_161815.jpg

Looks nice, 2gb will work, I guess I was just trying to say from any specs to look at that only ram would be the thing I would pay more attention to. I've seen 1gb and less which looks like it would be painful. This app is decent to show what's under the hood so to speak. My unit is "android 10" but in reality is a hacked up version of 8. At the time I kinda rabbit holed into seeing if there was any nonsense crap reporting back something to some random server instead of blindly trusting some cheap china computer. I just lock everything down, it doesn't get an internet connection anyways, and just use OsmAnd for nav since there's an added benefit of not needing any cell service or internets. https://osmand.net/

Do most people use the camera built-in distance lines or, cut the camera lines wire, use the available distance lines built into the head unit. Looks funny when both are activated. Dual distance lines may be good for those with excessive OCD.
