I would like to install a new double din radio for my 16 year old son and would like to have Bluetooth capabilities and hands free calling that is cost effective and easy to install. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I'm putting in a Pioneer MVH-S600BS next week, I'll let you know how it goes. No cd player (I use a usb flash drive for music), no touch screen (a plus for me), cheap, and you can adjust the color to perfectly match the rest of the truck.

The stereo dash kit I'm using is scosche, from everything I read it is the better kit. I don't like the factory pebbled thing anyway. The kit is for gen 2s. Don't know what year your son's truck is

I’ve had great luck with JVC and Pioneer. Amazon has many great options, Crutchfield has great customer service.

Recommend the Pioneer for sure. I dont recall if 03 had offered the JBL or steering wheel controls but cost would go up a bit if you have either and want to keep them functional. Otherwise pretty straight forward truck and simple install.

It looks like the 134 kit from Amazon carries all of the brackets and etc.

while touchscreen are bitchin' you have to take you eyes off the road in order to touch the correct place. They do make double DIN radios with buttons on the left and right of the screen that give a "click" when you press them. the larger the display for the incoming caller phone number/name the easier it is read, again, less time looking at the display.

My Pioneer 4200 NEX has a remote to control all the functions plus this head unit has a 7" screen easy to quickly view
