I've been considering putting in some seat heaters. Yes, I know it's the wrong time of the year and I currently live in SoCal.. However, this truck may have some Idaho in its future and the wifey likes her ass warm.

I bought a set of the inexpensive ones from Amazon, similar to these, and they seem pretty straightforward. (https://www.amazon.com/WATERCARBON-...1597965794&sprefix=seat+heater,aps,210&sr=8-2)

My stock seats and the original material are in really good condition, since I keep good covers on them all the time. I envision undoing the hog rings, pulling up the stock material and then laying the heaters down on the foam, possibly securing via electric tape around the edges. The wiring should be pretty easy, and I was likely going to use the 2 blanks at the bottom of the dash for the control button placement.

I'm sure others have done this. What's your experience? Does the stock material hold up well to taking on & off? Do the heaters slip around under the stock velour? Can you feel them? Do they perform well once installed? Is it worth it/would you recommend?

I put a set in my Mastercraft seat in my sand rail... yes you can feel the heat. Is it worth it? In a street car I dont think so. My Tacomas heat up pretty quick. In my sand rail they are definitely worth it.

I put wet okole covers in mine and added the seat and back heater to the passenger seat for my wife. She likes it. Might be easier just to get a cover with the heater.
