Hey guys quick question...do you think that a dealership would give me a hassle if I were to bring in my truck with an aftermarket skid that has no cutout for the filter hole? This means they would have to take off my 40+ lbs skid and do the change and then mount it back....

I CAN do the change myself but I'd rather have everything documented just in case warranty denies anything due to not keeping up with regular maintenance intervals.

I'm sure they'd give you flack. That's a whole lot of extra work for them to be doing that they don't need to be. It'd be easier to just remove the skid yourself before you take it in for an oil change.

they will charge you a hourly rate to remove it, and its not cheap.

skid without hole means you get to do your own oil change

Affirmative on this. Found this out the hard way with my last vehicle. This time for the Tacoma made sure I bought an after market skid with an access door.

Even with a hole I take my skid off, it’s only 6 bolts. Also gives me an opportunity to clean the underside of it.

    I mean overside..? o_O

Thanks for all the feedback fellas. Fortunately, my bud works at my dealership so hopefully he can put in a word..I also think my next door neighbor is one of the mechanics there as well (could be good or bad if he's the one that has to take off the skid) LOL

Installed the skid today and I don't think itll be too much of a hassle taking it off prior to taking it to the dealer.
