I have a chance to by a good shape stock Toyota trans cooler. It should fit and bolt on my non towing package truck.
Would this be worth it compared to an aftermarket cooler that would require fabricated mounts?
The price difference would be about $50 more for the Toyota compared to some nice aftermarket units I have been looking at.
The stock unit looks anemic but it would bolt right in.
    Thanks...

No doubt the after market would cool better you do a lot of towing? Other wise it's not some thing you really need.

To lazy to repeat all this so this quoted from another thread.

If you can get the stock one for $50 more then you have to consider how much cooling you need. A larger after market one will provide more cooling. However that $50 cheaper difference will be displaced by your time dicking around trying to get it installed and materials.

A stock cooler for me was way too much so that's one of the main reasons I went aftermarket.

I went with the anemic looking little Toyota stock cooler. I don't need a lot of cooling. Three M6-1.0 bolts and it was installed. Hoses will go on tomorrow.
    Thanks all...

update: this little cooler does a decent job, tranny temps are 15-20 degrees cooler now. Darn, now I'm one quart low.
