I have a 2007 Tacoma, 4dr, longbed, 4L V6. One big mistake was not getting it with the towing package. I now find myself wanting to tow a travel trailer and want to add an aftermarket transmission cooler. I was told by the Toyota Mech that these transmissions are sealed unit so that they can get 100,000 miles before replacing fluid.

I ask him about an aftermarket cooler and he said don't do it. If I did I would have to bring it it for them to top up the fluid because this Gen does not have a dip stick and you need a special tool to add fluid.

Has anyone added an aftermarket transmission cooler to their 2007 Tacoma? If so do you have instructions? How is it working? And has your deal said anything about the warranty?

    Thanks for all help

phantom, thanks for the info, I'm still looking into it. I have called my Toyota Service Manager and he said an aftermarket cooler would void the warranty. He is checking on if Toyota has something they can install without voiding the warranty.
