    Thinking about some mods!
I'd pay the price and stick with OEM. Having just paid for a '19 why would you look to save a couple of hundred bucks on a Chinese junk that might not work with your TSS?

I bought a '17 grille (which Toyota is willing to sell to anyone who is willing to pay for it) and installed it without any issues. Also bought the sensor garnish and proper wire harness, though the harness is not required unless you want to route your wires the same as the pro. No TSS issues and it looks sweet on my Cement OR.

Totally agree also. I want to do the exact same. I don’t understand when you pay for a blackout package this isn’t part of it!?

I’m keen to make the mode, but want to do it right and not mess with sensors.

If anyone knows more and where to get the black grille and bezel surround, please let me know!

I suppose you use an SR grille, but you still get the silver Toyota badge...

I did the upgrade with an eBay aftermarket pro grille and OEM garnish. It’s easy, just watch the videos on YouTube.

For all we know, the OEM Toyota grill could be manufactured in China. Just because the Truck is built in the US, it doesn't stop Toyota or any company from out sourcing for cheaper labor.

OEM is not that much more expensive.
I bought mine here, totals about $250 and they charge reasonable shipping.
You just have to get a VIN from a TRD Pro.

This is the route I am taking too.

Love the look of the PRO grille, but changing to the SR bezel is cheaper, easier, and even more distinctive. The fact they toned down the chrome look on the OEM OR/Sport grille helps a lot too.

It's great that we have choices! No wrong answer here, and no one should feel compelled to justify their choice, and certainly should not be questioning others' choices.

Curious, did you install a TRD pro OEM grill? and if so, what year?

I went to oempartsquick website and searched under 2018 tacoma pro. it shows this grille part number 53101-04050-C0 with the option of black, blue or white. also it's 25.00 cheaper. does anybody have any insight into this?

Haven't heard of the other colors, but keep in mind the cheaper 18 oem grills have an opening at the bottom for radar requiring the garnish piece. The older 17 oem and the ebay ones come with a plastic filler plate for if you don't have tss.

now that I look at this closer it looks like this p/n includes the grille surround. that is why there is a color choice!

That's what I heard....I have seen some videos with TRD PRO Grill from Amazon and the sensors worked out perfectly still. Saves a ton of money and has the same exact look!

Maybe a little late to the party here but I also swapped my stock grill on my TRD Sport for the Pro and everything worked great. The sensor move is easy and caused no issues. Just make sure to get the sensor cover piece. The dealership said it would be impossible to do and that I would have to recalibrate the sensor but it works just fine.
