I've been searching but can't find any info on this... In the not too distant future I would like to replace the stock steel wheel on my regcab 4wd with a lighter black aluminum type wheel. I love the looks of the SCS F-5 and Konigs but I dont want the wheels to stick out wider than stock, or at least less than 3/4in wider. Almost all of the aftermarket wheels I'm finding are a 0mm or -12mm which stick out more than I would like.

So are there any black aluminum wheels that are closer to stock specs? I would love to get some black bajas but they arn't readily available. If anyone can point me toward some options that would be great.

It's sort of looking like I'm gonna need to find a used set of black bajas off of the 08 rugged trail tacoma. I don't see those very often.

Get something aftermarket with same backspacing as your oems and 0 offset? Or........

These? IIRC these are the trail teams..........

or these? and these are TX Pros.................

Both are great oem choices IMO. I think you can get the top ones for little over 600 a set but have never seen the bottom ones for much less than 900. The bottom ones can be had in gunmetal, bronze or black & some colors are easier to get and prices may vary due to color as well. Also not sure of diameter you want.

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
^like he said but also consider the width of the rim, someone correct me if i am wrong but you might find a wheel with the same offset but if the wheel is 9" versus 7" it will stick out and inch more on each side

You won't find many aftermarket wheels that won't stick out more than stock.

The closest you could probably get is an 8" wide wheel with 5.5" backspacing, if you can find that. that would stick out 1" more than stock. most wheels you will find will be 8" wide with 4.5" backspacing (stick out 2" more than stock), or 9" wide with 4.5" backspacing (stick out 3" more than stock)

Thanks for the replies guys. I do like these oem wheels they just seem to be pricey when I locate used sets on craigs/ebay. I just think running the stock 245s on wheels that stick out of the flares will look like a ricer kid's integra and my main concern is improving mpgs when I can so I don't want to move up to 265s.

I'm gonna keep scanning the classifides to see if any of these oem wheels pop up...Maybe I could snag a set that has the tpms as well.

If anyone knows of other options let me know! Thanks guys

Anything off a FJ cruiser, 1st gen Tacoma or 1st gen Tundra should be the correct offset. I have both 17" FJ and 16" 1st gen Tacoma wheels for my '09. They look and fit better esp if your lifted with bigger tires but not so much offset your gonna burn through wheel bearings.

Will the stock offset of around 30mm cause premature bearing wear? That sounds no bueno.

The first gen Tacoma and Tundra wheels are 16x7" with a 15mm offset. The FJ cruiser wheels are 17x7.5" not sure of the offset (i'll let you do the math) but they have the same backspacing. I have been running FJ/1st gen wheels for a couple of years and have had no bearing problems. I know people that have the aftermarket wheels and have replaced bearings a few times.

Another problem will be finding a wheel that is narrow enough to continue running the 245s, oem wheels look like the only option so far.

I saw some 16x7 aftermarket wheels in my recent searching. Not sure of BS & offset or which style they were but I was mostly looking for black with polished lip and all black. IMO those trail teams with 245s might be the safest best bet functionally and best looking too based on your wants - if they come in 16s. I know those TX Pros do but they be spensive...but look damn good too. The 265/70/16s on 16x8s with 4.5 BS and 12 offset I went with don't stick out maybe an inch or so from flares and haven't changed my mpgs any vs the factory 16x7s with 245/75/16s that were on it.IIRC, those were 5.25 BS and something like 30 offset (6 spoke Gulf States chrome oems on 08 SR5) Just my .02 tho.......happy hunting.
