Rigid Dually Spots mounted...love them. They are small but very bright. I usually hate running wires, but these were a breeze.

Got my rear Rokblokz on...waiting for the front until I get my cab mount chop done. Overall quality is good. Install was easy once you figured out the instructions. These are the regular version (not the oversized) and the regular length (not the short). In hindsight I probably should have gotten the oversized, since my tires stick out so much, but not a big deal.

Bought a Kobalt slim tool box at Lowes. Quality is good enough for me at $159. It seems strong enough and secure enough for my needs. It won't be holding anything too valuable...random stuff like tie downs, bungees, tow strap, etc.
I'm going to leave it chrome. They don't make the black one anymore and the black UWS is more than twice the price and I didn't need black that bad. Painting or powdercoating is an option, but again I don't want it to be black enough to pay $100 to have it powdered and everytime in my life I have tried to paint chrome it never looks good long term.
So here's a crappy night pic of it....
    IMG_1873_zpsxegn1t1z_fd022bfe7afe9cb3bbca0feac9aaa130254f1464.jpg

And here are a couple random pics I took from my latest hunting trip...In the middle of the night in a parking lot waiting for my buddies and then one in the middle of the woods just where I parked...not exactly a photoshoot, but I thought it was cool. ha

Nice truck! I've always liked the short bed versions but opted for the long bed for more room when I got mine. If you opt for Tyger mirrors, they're great. But don't expect too much love from fellow taco owners. For some reason, everyone hates them things. Haha guess they just don't know what it's like to tow enclosed trailers and not see where you're backing up to with stock mirrors. Haha

Thanks, I am pretty sure I am going to get the Tyger mirros...debating which model...the manual, the power, or the heated, which I believe the heated is what you have right?
I know people really talk them down, which is funny to me, but I kind of get it. I understand talking sht on them if you've never towed anything and all you're trying to do is look like a Dodge Ram, but if you actually tow they are very functional. It's no different than the thousand guys on here that have sliders and armor who not only will never use them they actually work really hard to keep them looking pretty!

True that! I think you and I both use our trucks in a similar way. And I honestly don't mind how the truck looks with those mirrors. But they are a must when towing enclosed, and I'm all for safety over looks!

My mirrors have all the features built in. They also have the LED blinker in the front. Got them on Amazon. Everything is plug n play on 2012+ models, except the heated feature (unless your stock mirrors were heated, then that option is plug n play as well).

I would definitely go with the power ones. It's going to be a pain trying to adjust them while driving if they're manual.

Thanks man. I like it so far. Only complaint might be that it's a little hard to get in and out of unless you yourself are in the bed...atleast with a lift it's a bit tougher. Also, on sunny days the chrome can be pretty blinding and I have noticed it shining in through my rear window and rear view mirror some.
I've heard they do black Friday sales on these at Lowes for $99...that's a damn good price, but I couldn't wait the extra two weeks! ha

Hey guys, I don't think anyone is following my build too closely, but here's a quick update...the big news is that I switched from 285/75/16 KO2's to 265/75/16 KO2's and it was the best decision I have made. The truck (atleast for me) sucked with 285's...terrible gas mileage and no power...admittedly, I do speed a bit (highway around 80mph), but lets not confuse the story with facts!
Going down to the 265's (which I have on stock wheels for now) has the truck back to what I think is normal/expected power. The truck is no longer constantly downshifting and searching for more power.

And a quick ownership summary so far...9 months of ownership, 20,000 miles, no issues.
I just did a 2,000 mile round trip from PA to Tampa and stopped at Amelia Island on the way back where you can drive on the beach. Here's a quick shot looking out at the Atlantic:

Quick update..plastidipped the rear bumper yesterday. Should have done this a long time ago...used exactly one full can, 4 or 5 coats. Looks great and I didn't even try real hard...did it outside with a light breeze and sprinkles and it was still all good. The only thing to wait on now is to see how it holds up.

I ordered a hi lift from ebay and I also wanted to share my little bit of research on hi lift mounts. I'm sure there's more out there, but here's what I found in the market. I view these things as a commodity so I'm a price shopper on these, so I ordered from SOS.

    All Pro $99 +$30 powerdercoating
Pelfrey $80 + $20 powdercoating (also says "requires drilling", so that's a turn off for me)
    ATO $72
    4x $72
    Shmell $70
    Relentless $69 powdercoated
    SOS $40 + $15 for hardware
RCI $50 (this was technically best price, but it looked least sturdy with only 1 bolt holding it to the bed rail instead of most of the others having 2)
