I know, I know. This has been beat to death and do a search. Well fock off. I'm asking, don't click the link. :flipoff:

I've been running Duratracs for awhile now. I like them but I don't love them. And I really don't 'need' them. For shits and giggles I put on the stocker Bridgeston Duelers to try out again and to tow with. Night and day. The Bridgestones were so much nicer to drive. So...

The question is: I really want a nice looking, read aggressive, tire that rides nice, tows well, and handles well. Any suggestions?

But really, the BFG A/T KBro2s work well for all of the above.

Of course. The most expensive AT on the market, by a lot, would be the best for my needs. :D

I'm running the cooper discovery at3. Has an "aggressive" look to it with good mileage. So far I really enjoy the tires and they have performed well for me off road/rock crawling. Best thing IMO is no annoying highway sound from them. Handles pretty darn good in the rain too.

I like my Cooper ST MAXX's quite a bit. Honestly, though, just get any one of the tires listed here for the best price you can, drive around town for about 10 minutes going "huh this is sort of loud" and then never think about it again. You'll make yourself insane thinking about it.

This is one of those cases you'll have to decide if you want form or function.

You can get the function with a bit of 'look', or you can get the 'look' at the expense of most of your function.

Best agressive AT I've ever ran. Bought a second set for my new truck. I've ran Duratracs and Cooper ST Maxx, the ridge grappler looks every bit as agressive but much smoother and quieter, better handling, better dry street traction, and seems to run similarly offroad. Sticky mud is the only downfall to the ridge grappler, but thats going to be true to every AT tire

Another vote for Cooper AT3. Pretty sure you can get them in standard load as well, so it'll drive damn near like stock

At this point in my career I'm going with function. Hence why I'm likely giving up the Duratracs. Great tire, not for my needs. I can live with them but I don't want to and I don't have to.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll take all of your comments and suggestions into consideration.

Wasn't really looking at Toyo but I guess I have to now.

I took off my low mileage E rated Duratracs for some C rated Duratracs for this reason. It was an improvement.

The standard load will be even more of an improvement! I went from stock to standard old general grabbers, and didn't notice a difference. Once I jumped to load e 285s, it was a huge difference. If you want a well balanced tire leaning towards on road performance, the Cooper at3 are great. If you want one leaning more towards looks, the general grabber at2 are great.

FWIW I'm a "cheap" bastard and will go almost any lengths to find the best price for a product. Found a tire shop that matches online prices and has free installation when you buy from them. Nabbed my at3's for only $105 a pop installed.

285/70 r17 nitto ridge grapplers with a 1.75" bilstein lift in front and 1" block in rear. Very quiet on pavement. Handles better than my OEM. Nitto offered this in a C rated tire which made the decision for me over the KO2's that only had an E rated in this size.
