I have the same problem. I currently have bridgestone ht's. Nice quiet, long lived tire on road but offroad? Horrible, we get snow. sometimes a lot of snow. This year I had a road plow pull me out of my bar ditch.
That was fun. I'm probably going with the at3 coopers. stmaxx are a little much. falkens would be a good choice but they have repeated problems with balancing.
I have one of the odd ball size wheels on taco, 265-65r17. Hard to get tires in that size at malwart. ko2's are too expensive and some users have short live spans with those. Mich I used to use are not made anymore. expensive also.

Another vote here for Hankook DynaPro ATM.

I have run them twice now with other brands before and between.

Here's the before and after pics. She drive great with the new rubbers! Doesn't look very badass, but they're going to get the job done.

Thanks everyone for all the help. I appreciate it!

255/75r17 p rated duratracs. It will be about the same diameter but slightly skinnier. Rides great on the highway and has good traction for off roading within its 4ply limits. Looks super aggressive.

I have close to 20K miles on mine and they are very quiet. By far the quietest AT tire I’ve ever owned. I’ve had toyos Yokohama and duratracs in the past with the duratracs being the loudest especially when they got up in mileage.

I had newer stock Bridgstone 265s on the truck for about 3 months before i got these and once i switched i didnt notice a difference in noise. My buddies and i are all running these right now and love them. 3 tacomas and 1 runner, everyone really likes them!

I've got 43k on my Nitto Terra Grapplers.

Good in the rain, snow dirt and highway, not great in the mud. I have a 40 mile daily commute and average 20 mpgs with a 2 inch lift, sliders and tool box full of 150lbs of stuff.

    I'll buy them again.

Sweet ride!! I’m worried about getting my 2” lift with bigger tires because of mpg. Did you see any significant loss in mpg with this set up?

Currently have the Toyo Open Country AT2s. Couldn’t be a smoother ride. I was leaning towards Ridge or Terra Grapplers, but took the leap on Toyo’s Because of the ride quality reviews. You cannot beat the 65,000 mile warranty and they have the aggressive look you’re looking for.

I can also +1 on the Wildpeaks. My brother-in-law has them on his Tacoma, and the ride is nice as well. I’ll give the more aggressive look to the Falkens. I will say (with a little bias) I prefer the Toyos.

    this and that...
goodyear duratracs is super aggressive for an at tire but can handle road duties just fine. probably gonna pick up a set when i get some new shoes. if not your cup of tea i would just get toyo atii and just be done with it. tread pattern is pretty aggressive (not as crazy as the duratracs) and its road manners is just like driving a street tire. you can get it in sl load range too which is awesome for mpg efficiency. for reference heres a pic of my truck with atii equpped.

I absolutely love my Goodyear Wrangler "Duratracs". Look VERY aggressive, but not as loud as they look. Have a great "rain rating" and has the 3 peak snow designation.

Thank bud, and sorry man I can't really say. I don't really pay attention to the mpg. The wife has a Prius so when we need to get better mileage we take her car.

I like my Continental Terrain Contact A/T tires after ~6k. They have handled every type of terrain with confidence (wet roads especially).

What type wheel is this? Did it require a lift?
