Hello, in regards to a 2019 I4. I am trying to mouse proof the air box. I removed the box trying to find the air inlet. The air enters the box from the hole with the blue arrow. Does anyone know where that hole goes ? I am trying to find the origination of where the air enters to get to the air box so I can put a screen over it. Thank you for any help.

I am not sure - but if you have a compressor - try blowing some air out of it and see if you can feel or hear it from outside the truck ?

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Why not just put a screen over that hole?
The primary concern about rodents is their chewing on wires. Yes, they will chew on other plastic as well (e.g. my tractor's air intake) but it's much less harmful.

Isn’t the other side of the hole under the front fender? Like back behind the tire and up?

that’s my understanding of where the air comes in, unless you get a snorkel.

If a mouse can get into the stock air box of a Tacoma, I will be impressed. I’d be more concerned about them getting into the cabin air filter area

They can. I found a nest under my engine air filter after parking for 21 days due to work.

luckily that’s the only place they got to.

In front of the right front tire, the fender line has slits. Remove the fender liner from there and you will see the other side.
