    All -

I'm about to spray in a Raptor liner. In an effort to watch my air pressure better I've bought a hose-end regulator and gauge. Specifically, this one: https://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200658790_200658790

The thing is, I don't understand how to use it. Trial and error tells me that I want to set my compressor regulator somewhere close. But if I get something (what?) not set right then nothing comes out whatever is attached to the end. Also, when I do get airflow this new gauge shows a dramatic pressure drop as soon as I hit the trigger.

So, how am I supposed to use this?

    Thanks,

    Matt

What sort of PSI and cfm do you need at your spray gun ??

You have to set the compressor high enough I leave mine at 90PSI

Then you adjust your new regulator to have the pressure you want while the spray gun is open

The regulator keeps the pressure from going higher

That is the way I set things up

I appreciate it. I'll mess with it some. I used it today and sprayed in a bed liner. I just opened the hose end regulator the whole way and used it only as a gauge. I set the pressure at the tank. I'll see if I can get it to work the way you describe.

Where those regulators come into play if you have enough air that you might have another user using another air tool at the same time.

When I was more into painting I used a small air tank about 10' from the spray gun the second regulator mounted to that along with a dryer.

Ahh, that makes sense. I should have just bought a gauge for the end of the hose.
