I am not trying to say one is good or one is bad, just depends on the individual application. I was legitimately looking because I thought maybe there were better offerings on the market that I simply didn't know about. The Dewalt got my attention because they make good stuff, and it is advertised as being battery powered, 12v DC, and even 120v AC compatible. That last part sounds cool to me because I have a 2KW inverter in the bed of my truck, so being able to plug in back there as opposed to putting leads on the battery has its appeal. Unfortunately it looks like the AC adapter is a separate purchase with a short cable which kind of defeats some of that thought process. On battery, if it can put 20psi in all four tires in ten minutes, it legitimately sounds like a winner. Especially with the auto shut off when it reaches the programmed PSI without having to be babysat. My biggest question was simply whether it was worth selling the perfectly good Viair that I have for the Dewalt, which doesn't seem to the be worth it at this time. If mine eventually dies, I would consider the Dewalt as an alternative depending on where the technology is at that point.

Another vote here for the viair, have a 400. Bought it 3 years ago I use it regularly with 31.5" tires, gets the job done but if you had wide 33" it would take a while. Yeah they get hot but every compressor does, I never let it cool I figure it was that hot while running it can handle being that warm in the case as it "cools". Duty cycle is good to look at for sure, for viair their duty cycles are based on operating it at 100PSI which everyone will basically never do, so keep that in mind when looking at the numbers.

I was mistaken, I got the Viair 400P-Automatic kit for $260, which at the time was supposed to be one of their best and then my ARB was $492 with my military discount, which I switched to 3 months later. So it wasn't as big of a gap as everyone thinks, at least not for me.
