What's up all? This is my first post, so pardon if there's a better place to post.

    I have 13 doublecab.

I've noticed that air doesn't make itself to the backseat very well. I noticed some vents under the center console, but they don't seem blow air. I'm not sure what they're used for. Any ideas About the vents? About getting more air to the back?
    Ceiling mounted fan?
Rerouting air ducts to the back?
    Something else?

I have a clip on 12v fan I use for the summer when it's 100 degrees. Helps the kids cool off when we get in the hot truck.

the vent under your center console are for you power inverter. You have 2 vents under each front seat that blow air to the back when your settings are on floor, or dash/floor

i have thought of cutting some vents into the back ofthe cemter console. I have planned to use one of the two openings of the vemts under the seats, to re-route amd have the air come out through the jew vents that will be cut..............i have just never taken the time to plan/work it out.

It seems like it would be a good start:notsure:
a little air is better than no air.

I assumed you had a TRD with the power outlet in the bed. That's where the actual inverter is located. Gives it some air flow so it doesn't over heat. If you don't have the TRD then maybe Toyota uses the same center console in all its double can models.

Not sure if this picture helps. But that's what's under your armrest center console. The inverter and fan. Hence the vent looking things at the bottom of the console. To get an idea of what angle you are looking at, you can see the front dash and 4x4 switch on the left side of the picture

Tinting the rear 3 windows with 5% was the cure for me, the whole truck cools nicely in 2nd or 3rd fan speed now. It used to feel very warm behind you, even with the A/C on, the HVAC fan on HI.

Cool. Thanks for the pic of the center console. I found the vents under the seats. I have a feeling my weather tech blocks them a bit and they seem a bit short.
I definitely face the center vents to the back. It helps a lot.
The catch is that I have 2 kids in car seats in the back, so the seats block some of the air flow to the kids, but also keep them safe. :)
Anyways, I'm putting on aftermarket tint today. Just in time for the ATL summer heat wave.

    Thanks for all the tips.
