Keep the dam! You will get an extra 0.04 MPG boost! And you will need the extra MPG with this annoyingly tiny gas tank they outfitted on this truck.

I too have the 2.5” factory lift and the damn barely clears the sidewalk.

Toyota shows the OR Max with the front spoiler and the "regular" OR without. Toyota also has the spoilered OR Max getting the same mpg as the non-spoilered Pro and TH.

OR Max with a factory lift, trd skid plate and premium package? That's Pro money, why didn't you give your '22 a proper sibling?

The reason why we have a new truck on the driveway: the photo was from a couple weeks ago, wife and her friend coming home from Tahoe. No major injuries.

    Nice truck.
You know, I figure the dam is so flimsy it’s not going break anything if it gets torn off. Hell, probably not even notice it when it happens. Anyway, wife and I both hate it so I’ll take it off to see how it looks.

I’ve gotten 19 a few times. Sure as hell not 22+. Haven’t taken the air dam off my TRDOR Hybrid yet… Don’t have a lift either.

LOL They had a Pro on the lot …they wanted 70K. Paid 49k even, plus tax and dmv for the OR (no premium package). And I didn’t want my 22 to get off on the wrong foot with her new sibling. plus, see photo above. :)

Yeah, not concerned about the bs mileage claim. Me thinks it covering up an ugly associated with the lift. The lot had a few non hybrids OR's with the lift and the TRD skid with no dam, they did not look like a finished product, certainly not clean like the Pro. The lifted Maxes with the TRD skids all had the dams.

as mentioned above, is just a hybrid versus non-hybrid thing. The hybrids get the air dam, the non-hybrid off-roads don’t.

and I call bullspit on the claim about air dam removal affecting warranty on hybrid components.

    No, 100% serious.

in the US, warranty stuff is very clear.

For a manufacturer to deny warranty coverage, they must show that something you did (or didn’t do, such as maintenance schedule) caused the problem.

As I see it: the TrailHunter trim is a hybrid with no air dam. So what’s the relation between the air dam and the hybrid components?

@batacoma posts a lot of unsubstantiated ship that’s just not true. Get a valid citation before you believe anything they post.

There's no way the airdam being removed has anything to do with the warranty on hybrid parts.

Airdam wouldn't prevent any serious damage from highway debris which would be more of an insurance thing instead of warranty anyways.

Just take the thing off, you have a real skidplate..

I take offense to this because gay people are usually way cooler than predator steps. No need to degrade our gay brothers and sisters by comparing their existence to that of the dreaded predator steps.

The TH and Pro have viper cut bumpers which changes the air flow, they don't need an air dam. I have no data to back this up, but if I worked for Toyota, that's what I would say.

Thanks man! I really needed to have some understanding why the Pro and Hunter's don’t have the air dams with nobody complaining about whistling at the lower control arms …and why they look better without the dam but with the skids. Sounds reasonable to me anyway.

    ….should’ve got a Pro.:D
