Air dam/spoiler removal

Like everyone else said, it’s fine and will only potentially case a mileage drop which you probably won’t notice.

Off road models don’t have the air dam

 

Thanks for the input. I’ll let you know how it goes. Gonna remove it tomorrow morning. From the side it’s hideous. Can’t understand why they couldn’t make it more square in contrast to the body line.

Look at full size trucks and suvs. They make me feel better about my truck chin lol. They are shamless blocks of plastic shit slapped on. Ours is at least rounded? Lol.

 

Lol! Theirs looks like shit with or without! Makes me love my Taco even more!

 

I raced home from the dealer to remove mine. Stored it in my attic above the garage if anyone needs one. I don't care if it effects mileage, steering, aerodynamics or any other possible combination of benefits. It looks like craaaap. I drive a truck, not a corvette.

From other threads on here, it seems to be up to 2mpg. That's quite a bit considering these trucks don't get great MPG to begin with.

Whether that matters is up to you. To me, the air dam doesn't look bad enough to lose that many miles/tank.

 

Thanks for the input. When I remove it, I’ll post here again and report any significant changes in mpg.

 

I did the same lol. Although since im doing 75 or more clicks a day on highway I put it back on. Im OCD about straight line tracking though- i couldn't get my alignment right on my last taco after 3 attempts and it was always pulling or just a bit off on the highhways. Ever since then i said fuck that lol. Never again.

Like the diff howl u cant un hear after realizing its there.

 

I pulled mine off this morning. Haven’t had it on the freeway yet. Always up for an adventure lol!

 

Moving 1200 Miles from Bay Area to Montana. I temporarily put mine back on for the move.

 

Some day a little bit more wind noise in the cabin on highways but I haven’t noticed. Other than that stability on windy days or cross winds or when in between two semi’s on the highway...

It’s a high profile vehicle, no different than raising your truck. Take it off!

You all are in a big pile of shit. That air dam is the same like the mattress tag. Remove it and is a Federal offense. I warned you.

 

Glad I bought an OR then.... never knew what I was missing.

 

It’s not a Federal offense if the owner removes said device. I read the fine print.
