So i Installed a Flowmaster V6 dBX CAT-BACK Single Side 409S with the K&N 63 Series Aircharger Kit. The truck sounds great but the pickup off the start is slower then before. its a 2008 Tacoma access cab V6. As per flowmaster i reset the computer by removing the negative side of battery for 2-3 min. The computer will learn and adjust settings. anyone ?

Flowmasters are not known for making any power at all. Not familiar with that cat back system in specific- but most of their exhaust products are tuned for sound and if they make power gains- that's a bonus.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but I think it takes 20-30 minutes to reset the computer. Least that's what I think I read. I have never had to do it myself.

First off, welcome to the forum. I have a KN intake as well, also I have JBA short headers, and a banks monster exhaust. The low end is a little weak, but in the higher rpm range, I found thats where all the ponies moved to, plus maybe a little bit more. Also it sounds great. Gas mileage I cant say has improved, but it definately has not got worse. I average 20mpg. And again, welcome to the T-Dub

K&N doesn't filter well, but then again they aren't designed for maximum filtration, they are designed for maximum performance through the largest increase in air flow than most other brand filters. As far as oiling and MAF issues, I'm sorry but that simply is because the owner is over oiling the filter. I've run K&N products for the last 15 years on several high performance cars and sport bikes and I have never NOT ONCE had a Check Engine Light. Not even one time. If you want filtration than stick with a stock filter.

So its been a couple of weeks now, Thanks for all the info. I can tell you that the truck now has all the HP after about 35 - 40 mph. I punch it and go's into passing gear and takes off like a rocket. Off the line its a little sluggish. The flowmaster is ok not the best in performing, sounds just ok. Whats next? Just hit 100k miles. Rides like it was new!!!
