Ok this is going to sound dumb, but how do you get the lid of the air filter box off? I remove the metal clips, and it seems like there are two plastic pieces in the back holding it on. I figured I should ask before I broke something.

Yes I should read the manual, but I'm not sure where I left it. So I ask you fine folks instead.

If I understand your question correctly, most vehicles you should be able to just remove the two metal clips and then pull the cover towards the clips. ie. not up, but over. I haven't done it yet on my '10 but I'm confident that's how my '99 was and most I've seen are that way. Good luck.
