Ok, I have been reading a lot of threads on which air filter to use. I have it figured out that I am going to go with the AFE pro dry s. So I see people talking about taking out the secondary filter. Where is that located? I am not very smart when it comes to vehicles, but i'm trying. I know these are dumb questions, but I know this is a very helpful site. So the main filter is a rectangular filter, correct? I appreciate any help you guys can give me.

Its ok Thats why were here.

The secondary air filter removal is located in the free mods section.... The sec. air filter is located behind the air filter where the aFe filter would go

hmmmm, So I think I need to just jump into my truck and see what I can find. I think I might have been looking at the secondary air filter thinking it was the main one. Is the main one round or rectangular?

Yeah the secondary air filter looks cheap....

When you open up the box on the motor look inside towards the motor and you will see a dingy air filter(looks like plastic chicken wire). Get the drill and drill the little "rivets" out. DO NOT DRILL TO FAR!! The Main filter has a slanted top i believe

Ok, I was reading in the cheap mods section that I shouldnt do it because I'm in California, so I think i'll just stick with replacing the stock filter

Yeah if youre in Cali. You better leave it in because of the strict regulations there. Thats still a good thing to do. The secondary air filter is a smog filter.

Looking at the engine compartment....... Open up the box on the motor and look in the part that you unlatched and there you will find the air filter
