Eh, it is just a picture.. Tasteless yes, rude to family members who lost loved ones, yes, but I don't think they should get in trouble for this. It's only a picture and its a fake body.

If it were not for that other scandal, this wouldn't even make the news.

It shows a lack of respect and those NCO's in that picture do not deserve their stripes.

Everyone of them should be forced to do Military Funerals. Maybe if they saw the tears of widows and young children they would learn that it is not something to joke about.

And I can guarantee that not one of them has had a friend killed in this war.

+2 Those NCOs used horrible judgement. Timing is horrible and to show a "dead" Airman like he's a prize is a disgrace. I agree, make them all do military funerals and that way they can see what it is like to lose a brother/sister and see their families in that moment. Idc if it wasnt around the time of the Dover AFB thing. Still a terrible idea...

I refuse to pass judgement without context and think it is shameful for anyone else to as well. For all we know this was a tribute to one of their brothers or sisters in arms. The only reason their use of a coffin is even an issue is because of the recent scandal and if it wasn't for that there wouldn't even be an issue.

I look at it like this. Do you think that 16 soldiers would deliberately intend to be disrespectful to fallen comrades, and then post it for all the world to see? I highly doubt it. Was this photo thoroughly thought out? Obviously not. Nobody thinks about how their every action will be seen by the public. Everyone's quickness to pass judgement on situations like this are more appalling to me than if this truly was intentional.

I like the Air Force... they screw up so much that it distracts the rest of the country from Navy's screw ups
