 I was waiting for someone to catch that  can't get nothing past you Matt :p I watched the Pararescue training on "Making the Cut" and all I could say was "that's it?". I know it's not the WHOLE thing, and I know Pararescue does great things. But.....

I want to be a CSI because they solve shit before noon most days. Looks pretty easy plus you get to work with hot chicks. Sign me up...I mean if it is on TV, it must be 100% accurate right?

the STC episode was 40 min of television showing little clips of a 21 hour training day of a 10 week course, which upon graduation allows the grads to commence the 2 year training pipeline... pretty easy to say "that's it?" while sitting on the couch eating ruffles. the hard stuff is what they didn't show on the episode because they do not want to comprimise the course too much and allow potential trainees to come into the course "semi" knowing what to expect.

maybe i'm a little partial to the Pararescue career field, but when a PJ has been awarded the MOH and others the AF cross along with the fact that many have given their lives in upholding their "that others may live..." motto i find that hardly a joke.

Like I said, I know it wasn't the WHOLE process. I take my work seriously, but not the interservice slander. It's all funny to me personally. They're hardworking men/women(?) just like everyone else that goes above and beyond the conventional warfare side.

    For what it's worth, I wasn't eating ruffles...it was cheesy puffs :p

Oh, CSAR is multiple career fields that support getting PJ to who need to be rescued

Hey man, I've been in the air force for 9.5 years now and it's been great! Like some have said you have your ups and downs in any branch but I've got friends in all branches all said they wish they went Air Force, just sayin! Also if you have your degree try for a commission, if you don't now I can almost guarentee you're going to regret it later because most everyone does. Best of luck to you no matter what you decide, the AF guy should be able to hook you up. When someone comes in looking for some kind of Special Ops/Critically manned type job like EOD is you're pretty much a shoe in! Maybe we'll see you around, if you get in let us know and we'll tell you where you should try and get stationed, otherwise GO OVERSEAS!!!

Hahaha, you've clearly never dealt with PJ's if you think they are a joke. If you think the AF doesn't get into the shit, well, you're flat out wrong. Ever heard of JTAC's? CCT's? As an Infantryman, I will never discredit the AF. JTAC's were right there pounding the ground with us and the sound of that A-10 that they just cleared hot on the enemy is one you'll never forget. It's a sigh of relief to know that JTAC is by your side. Their job is anything but a joke, it's actually one of the most serious in the military. They have control of those aircraft as they stack them at different altitudes in the sky. Not to mention the ability to clear them HOT for CAS. One mistake there can be devastating. You'll hear nothing but respect for AF come from this Army Infantryman's mouth because I have been there when their work has saved my ass. Period.

Thanks! I'm single, no kids so I'm open to being stationed anywhere, especially overseas. I live about 30 mins from Seymour Johnson AFB...it would be my luck to get stationed there. I'm looking to get further away from this town.
