Fellas, I recently installed a Volant CAI about a week ago. Upon driving the truck after installation, I noticed the "check engine" light and another one below it have been on since I installed it. I'm assuming this has to do with deleting the secondary filter as there is an electrical plug that is now obsolete. Also, can't tell whether or not gas mileage is any better. Does disconnecting the MAF and plugging it back in cause a little worse fuel mileage? I figured a 4cyl/5sp truck could get high 20's mpg. But then again most of my driving is stop/go traffic haha.
I enjoy adding new parts to vehicles but I'm still ignorant to a lot of things. Any advice is appreciated!

I suggest to check it first with a OBD Scanner if u have one too see whats that error for.. it might have something to do with that CAI you intalled.. IMO :fingerscrossed:

Thanks, a friend of mine had one of those readers and we just got rid of the codes. No harm done

Kinda hard to diagnose the problem when you don't take the time to see what the computer has an issue with before you dismiss the code.

True. None of this occurred until I installed the intake.

While I've got a v6 with the Volant, they are known to cause lean codes, but I'm not sure on the issues they can cause with the 4cyl.
