That was the last performance style mod on my list. Did you do just the header with the factory cat back or? What was the sound like. I would be keeping the factory exhaust just throwing on the LCE for a tiny bump in power

I did just the header. I would search for an equal length header for better low down torque, but as far as I know, LCE doesn’t make them anymore. Their street header now looks more like the doug thorley header. It sounds a little more special, but noise isn’t too different.

One of these days I will get a mild muffler so I can get a bit more gurgle

Yeah I noticed lce changed their header design more towards Doug thorleys longtube style. I checked no one that I could find offers that equal length header anymore. Which is where I want more power down low not so much up top. I’m going to reach back out to lce to see if it’s something they can still produce.

Your difference in power is negligible between the UEL and EL header.

The EL LCE was known to make its peak torque around 700rpm lower than stock. The DT header didn’t make peak grunt that low in the power band from what I recall.

Running larger tires I want as much power down low as this 2.7 can make. Only a regear will wake the truck up next…

I reached out to LCE and they no longer offer the equal length their response is below. Guess I will pick up the header they offer now and try it out.

“ The new design didn't change the performance of the header that was our goal when building them but due to there rising popularity we needed to simplify the build process to keep up with demand so it may not look as intricate but it still provides the same 10-15% power increase. If you have any further questions please let me know I am happy to help”

Can literally guarantee you won't notice a difference between an EL and UEL header. On our trucks, the difference is placebo.
Still a good choice upgrade for the truck, though!

I think you’re right I doubt it will be any difference besides in your head. I’m going to pick up one of their newer style headers and report back once I get a little seat time with it.

Get a Throttle Control device, start with the $48 called 9-Drive on Amazon.

9 Drive Throttle Response Controller,Smart Electronic Racing Pedal Accelerator Compatible with Toyota Tacoma FJ Cruiser 4Runner 2003-2009(4th Gen Only) Base,Limited,Limited V8,SR5 V8,Sport V8(821) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09N8V12HB

It's cheap, but it absolutely works. Enables much quicker throttle response. Makes so you don't have to floor the pedal each time you want power, saving previous milliseconds in reaction time and requires less physical exertion.

You'll find there's more than enough power on tap even at 75mph.

    Hey Robert,
Did you ever install the header?
