I know a bunch of people are going to freak out that I want to bypass the entire airbag system, but I wheel my truck pretty hard and will be going to Moab for a week next year. Is there a wire I can intercept and put on a switch to disable the airbags? I hear the curtain bags run off a tilt sensor and I don't want to trigger the airbags when I'm wheeling. The off roads have a button to disable the curtain bags but I'm sitting in an sr5.

Haven't looked at my fuse panel for it yet, but pull the fuse(s) would best & easiest I would guess.

The worry is that you break / damage the sensor unknowingly then put the fuse back in and they still go off lol. Far fetched I know but still would suck.

I saw the fuse for the airbags. I didn't know if anyone knew what wire went to that fuse. I would like to have it on a switch so while I'm wheeling I can turn it off, and before I hit pavement I can turn it back on without having to taking the kick panel out in the cab.

I can't remember the term they use but it's a button that if you could it down it will disengage the curtain airbags. My buddy has it on his 15 OR. It's a solid idea considering if you're crawling and get off camber you don't want random bags blowing up lol

I wonder if it automatically turns them off when you're in 4wd
