I had a shop install SPC upper arms and replace the cam bolts before the alignment. The airbag light has been on ever since. I've been so busy that i've just been ignoring it. What could have caused it to turn on and how do i remedy it?

    Thanks!

Possible that they pinched a wire or could be coincidence, you really need to get the code(s) to know what to look at.

Is it just the airbag light?
I can see where an ABS light would be caused by UCA replacement.
But I can’t think of why just an SRS light?

The only thing I could think of is the inner fender wells have to be bent out of the way to fish the UCA bolt out. There are wiring harnesses that run along it that have to be unclipped before bending so you don’t pinch them. It’s possible one of those heads up front to a collision/airbag sensor.

    Yeah, if/when I do mine.
I’m taking a BFH to the pinch welds.
I’m not about to fight those bolts out. Lol

Whenever you get around to it, these are your friend. Makes bending the sheet metal back incredibly easy. Just make sure to unclip the wiring harness first lol

On both sides the SRS front sensor wiring runs along the aprons. They need to be carefully unclipped and set back during this job. I'd bet they damaged the wiring.

Remedy should be to replace the wiring harness if damaged. Any repairs made to those wires would be unsafe. I would fix asap as your air bags are likely disabled right now. If you get into an accident they won't work.

I used an obd II reader and it shows no codes. It is just the airbag light not the ABS light. Thank you everyone for your help!

Not all OBD readers are created equal.
Most don’t do SRS or ABS, although that feature is being implemented on most of the newer scanners now.

Most standard off the shelf OBD2 code readers are only going to read codes from the Engine Control Module, you need one that can read codes from the SRS (Airbag) Module.

Like the person above said. There are srs wires running along the apron. Exactly in the way of the long uca bolts way as it comes out.

either the shop messed up the wire harnesses or they unplugged it and forgot to plug it back in.
