    I'll post this again then. If you doubt me, at least don't doubt Toyota itself:

    Powertrain 60 months/60,000 miles (whichever comes first) (engine, transmission/transaxle, drive system, seatbelts and airbags).

    http://www.toyota.com/tacoma/warranty.html

    And I have personally had my spiral cable replaced under my powertrain warranty.

    I agree that the powertrain covers the airbags but I was told that it does not cover the spiral cable.

    airbags=whole airbag system.

    If the said no spiral cable they lied to you. Thats like saying seatbelts are covered, but not the buckles themselves.

    I've done some research on here and it looks to me like what you are saying is right. I was told they would fix mine at no charge ( as a favor to me ), even though I was out of my 3 year 36,ooo mile warrantee by a couple of months.Makes me wonder if they just don't understand there own warrantees or if they really were lieing to me. :confused:

    Well as has been mentioned they seem to dislike warranty work, so maybe just trying to weasel out of it.

    Weaseling out of things is what separates us from the animals!

    (Except the weasel.) :D

    Did you read the post? They replaced it for me under warranty. But they tried to charge me.

    I had the same thing happen. I emailed toyota asking if this was a common thing and if it was covered by warranty and they said no. I even asked about it being covered because it is part of the SRS and they still said no. I complained about that part and they just said 'sorry we weren't able to meet your needs'. This was like 5 months ago. Should i call BS or is it too late?

    If you're still under warranty (powertrain) you should be able to get it covered. Try another dealership. I had 0 issue with it. They didn't even bat an eye.

    My clockspring went bad at 59k, 57 months into powertrain warranty, took it to the dealer, they wouldn't cover it.

    Does anyone know where I can purchase a clockspring other than the dealer?

    How much do those run again because I'm pretty sure I am in serious need of one.
