Idk if I'm going crazy for nothing but is the passenger airbag light on center console supposed to be illuminated all the time when their's a passanger? Never noticed it before does go off when no passenger.

Yes. There is a weight sensor. That’s why small children shouldn’t sit in the front seat because they don’t weigh enough for the automatic sensor to detect a passenger.

Yes it’s normal and yes when there’s a certain amount of weight on the sensor it will activate.

I’ve taken many car seats out with air bag built in the seat and all there is under the seat is a pig tail connector and possibly a small module but nothing to worry about.

Most cars the sensors are attached under the seat. Some manufactures are putting them (or a set) on the seat back. Just start the truck up with no passenger and nothing on the seat. It should be off at that point. Then if you press down heavily on the seat bottom and hold it for a few seconds it should change state to on. If so it’s working correctly

That’s not really the reason. The sensors will pick up weight at just a few lbs, so pretty much any child with maybe the exception of a newborn child. The reason young children shouldn’t sit in the front seat is serious injury or death from an airbag deployment.

It’s not because the airbag possibly won’t turn on if a child is in the front. It’s because the airbag could possibly kill the child. This is the reason single cabs have the manual shut off for the airbags.
