My airbag light came on Monday when I hit the bump to pull into the parking lot at work. I didn't worry about it at first, I figured it would go away. And even if it didn't, I would just clear the code and MAKE it go away.

Cue to yesterday and I try and clear the code... and nothing's there. A couple of refreshes later, and code clearing just in case and still... nothing. So I research on here and see how it might be related to the spiral assembly TSB. But supposedly, that was taken care of a couple of months ago when I had the transmission flushed at the dealership. So I call them up and ask if they can read the code since they worked on the TSB and at least tell me if it's related, or what's broken. So they quote me $91. TO READ A CODE! If it turns out to be related to work that they'd done, then they will waive it. If not, then I'm out $91!

I'm hoping I left a cable loose on Saturday when I installed my wet okoles and the parking lot jarred it loose. So I'll check under the seats when I get off work. But otherwise, does anyone have any other bright ideas?

    EDIT
Turns out I did leave the cable loose. Check the simple things first!

no jack - similar deal here - I installed Wet Okoles over a year ago without any issues. I had my stereo done professionally about 6 months ago and no issues...until about a month ago my airbag light turned on. it went away. then came back. went away. it's been on and off for a month.

dealer did the brake actuator TSB on Saturday and they allegedly checked the airbag system. history codes were: B1650, B1653, B1655, B1660, B1821, & B1826. They cleared the codes and the service writer explained that it was probably my fault for installing seat covers or the stereo. I could tell we both knew I would be back but I checked the urge to call him a mother fucker. Bastards made me drop my truck off on Saturday at 8 am and they expected to have it all day. What a waste.

Light came on again today. I've driven the truck about 4 times since Saturday. This is going to be a problem, isn't it?

After looking up all of your codes... They are the same faults for both the drivers and passenger air bag systems. It seems to point to a wiring harness issue or the Center Air Bag Sensor Assembly and the verbiage implies a short or ground in the circuit.

    For example B1826 says this:

    Detecting Conditions

    • The center airbag sensor assembly receives an open circuit signal in the side squib (Front passenger seat side) circuit for 2 seconds
    • Side squib (Front passenger seat side) malfunction
    • Center airbag sensor assembly malfunction

    Trouble Areas

    • Floor wire
    • Front seat with adjuster frame assembly RH (Side
    squib [Front passenger seat side])
    • Center airbag sensor assembly

B1821 says the same about the Drivers side ... Common between the two are the wires and the center airbag sensor... I would check the wiring.

Its a good chance it is one of the connectors under the seat. If you were installing the seat covers, you may have jarred a connector. Make sure and check all of those connectors including the seat belt.

If your signals and horn and cruise control all work, its most likely not the spiral cable.

start simple. Check what is easy to get to. The air bag ECU is just doing a continuity check and it found one sensor not reading. If you get everything properly plugged back in, the light will go out.

    report back what you find.

Actually the codes indicate both the passenger and driver sides as faulted.
