The electrical work is beyond my capabilities. Once I saw the wiring into the lighter looked borked, I had my radio/alarm guy do it and reinstall it. Had him put in a new antennae too. He charged me $80 for all of it.

Ditto on that, mine started with a fade to on but was dim, then worked fine for a while and last week stayed on all the time, with the key out of the ignition!
I checked all the wires and when I jiggled the wire harness at the sensor the light flickered. I jumped the 2 terminals at the diagnostic port under the hood and all I got was a flashing cruise control light and air bag light, no codes.
I pulled the fuse to shut the light off on the dash until I got my replacement part, which is hard to find since Toyota discontinued it. I got it a couple of days later and installed it and the light is gone.
You just have to keep looking and hope you can can find a good used part. They're out there but getting harder to find. I hope this solution will help someone else out with the same problem.
Just remember before doing any checking of the wiring and connecting and disconnecting, wait a couple of minutes after disconnecting the battery before you start to work on it. When installing the sensor, make sure it is bolted in place before you plug it back in to the harness according to the FSM.
