    Hello again.
05 Tacoma TRD Brilliant White. Airbag light on. It has been on for a while.
Everything else works fine. Did the jumper wire and got code 31 and 51.
Code 31 only says Center airbag sensor assembly. Code 51 reads it could be Spiral Cable, Instrument panel wire, Steering pad, or Center airbag sensor assembly. I have been reading and understand 05's have a problem w/Spiral cable malfunction.
Any Ideas? Maybe someone has had this same problem. I am not very electronically inclined but can follow direction well and can use a meter if I know where to place the probes. Would love some advice on troubleshooting to pinpoint the exact cause of my problem. I don't think the airbag will deploy with the light on.
    Thanks

Old thread, but I've got the exact same thing with the 08 Access cab I just bought. Does the recall fix take care of both codes? From what I've read, it looks like the recall problem would only cause the 51 code.

Update: Got the clock spring replaced under the recall today and it took care of both codes.
