I know I've seen a few threads on here regarding the airbags in these trucks. I am new to the site, and have a new to me 2012 AC TRD, and the passenger airbag light has been on since I bought it (private sale) previous owner didn't know what was going on either. I have checked the yellow cable under the passenger seat for snug fit (also no frays on wire) I have replaced the clock spring (didn't fix issue but now my horn works! lol). I have tried to sit in the passenger seat and then turn the truck on, but this didn't do anything either. I'm leaning toward the "sensor" in the passenger seat to be the culprit. Can anybody give me any ideas on any other possibilities? Or recommend a place to buy the sensor? I don't imagine the dealer would be very cheap. thanks!!!

You need to start with a zero-point-calibration. This sets the system to know which weight is what. My sisters 2012 had the same issue and the calibration is all it needed. I've seen some customer cars that need sensors but its often just a calibration from time/weak battery etc.

Any shop with proper scan tools can perform the zero point. Most off the shelf scanners can't perform this.
