Airbag light on dash

The airbag light is lit up on my dash. When there is no passenger the light next to the clock doesn't light up saying the airbag is off. Anyone ever had this problem? 2005 sr5 4x4

 

My LF impact sensor (the yellow thing mounted under the front bumper on the aluminum reinforcement) went bad like 11 years ago. It’s been fine ever since changing it. Maybe just unplugging it and plugging it back in would fix it. Good luck!

 

Scan it for SRS codes.
Then report back with what you find.
We can better assist you then.

 

You can use a jumper wire if a scan tool isn't available and flash them out with the light.

 

Check your IG1 fuse in the cab. To start. Any other functions not working?

 

How does one test those front impact sensors?

 

Do you have similar for other years, like '13?

No current issues, but like keeping such info on hand.

 

I'll have to look it up, I'd imagine the procedure is the same but the code list is bigger.

 

There really is no test for the crash sensor itself, essentially if the wiring is good and the module says the sensor is bad replace the sensor.

 

Air bag light and non functioning horn is a clock spring possible failure.

 

If you can’t get to it. I’ll look it up later as well.

With a sledgehammer

 

Here are the codes I have

 

All those point to a bad clockspring except the B1660 but it's history so maybe it was a one time event.

 

I did replace the clock spring a few years ago with a cheap ebay unit. Hopefully that is all it is. The horn and cruise control work fine though.

 

I just replaced the clock spring. That fixed my issue. no more srs light or code.
