    Guys and Gals,

I need your help or assistance on one issue. I have a 99' Taco that just had the SRS (Airbag) light come on. I assumed that it was probably the seatbelt connections, but that wasn't the case at all. After checking all fuses and seatbelt connections, the airbag light still remained on. I went to the Toyota dealership and those clowns were going to charge me $115 for a diagnostic check before they would let me know where the problem was located . Has anyone had this issue, and if so, can you please provide me with some feedback or assistance? It would be gladly appreciated! Thanks in advance! :)

Tech- It's your airbags bro- I know it stings, but pony up the 115 and get the pros to look at it ASAP.

You don't want it going off when you aren't expecting it or not blowing when you need it.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I guess I'll just foot the bill and get it done right. Thanks again!

Before I sold my rig my light was on and had to go to the $tealer to get it checked out. It turned out to be a bad driver's side seatbelt tensioner. 4 Benjamins later it was fixed....

Seems like everybody keeps saying this. It's not exactly impossible as you can pull the codes yourself with a jumper wire in the diagnostic connector and at least have a general idea. Depending on the problem it can be easily fixed or may require some more troubleshooting to pinpoint the problem.

fyi, my SRS light cam on right after i pulled out my LH seat belt tentionor assemble to tighten the spring (had lazy seatbelt that wouldnt retract). I fixed the seat belt but now the light. I pulled the code with my scanner which was:
    DTC No.

    DTC
    B0135/73

    Detecting Condition
    • Short circuit between PL+ wire harness and PL- wire harness of squib
    • Airbag sensor assembly malfunction

    Trouble Area
    • Seat belt pretensioner (LH)
    • Airbag sensor assembly
    • Wire harness

I'll pull the plastic covers off and inspect. I probably left something of or pinched a wire.

    A. That's awesome. What scanner do you have?

    B. Thank you for sharing - that really can help people get the confidence to do it themselves.
