So a couple months back my airbag light seemingly randomly came on. (2010 Tacoma) I was leaving the grocery store. It has gone in an out since, but has been consistently on for a few weeks now.

I did the easiest thing and checked all the connectors under my seat and everything seems secure. I did the OBD pin jumping trick and pulled the SRS Code 35, which is the "seat position airbag sensor circuit malfunction". I replaced the sensor and still have the issue which means it's probably a wiring issue. The plug to the sensor doesn't get power, but I wouldn't expect it to as it's probably a magnet switch. Which gives me some ideas for troubleshooting. I took it to the 'stealership' and they confirmed the code for the seat position sensor and think that I either modified the wiring (I didn't) or it's water damaged (It's not), both sound insane lol. I'm about at my wits end with this other than tearing the seat out and testing every point of the wiring harness from the seat position sensor to the airbag control module.

Edit: I believe I have it narrowed down from the floor wire to the center airbag sensor assembly? Unless there's a ground short somewhere.

    So my questions are:

Would this light drop a code that doesn't auto clear? I know airbag deployment would, but I suspect this would be from a check every time at startup.

Does anyone know where to get or have a wiring diagram or schematic for the airbag system pertaining to the driver seat in particular?

Will my airbag work? I suspect not lol, but if so a random light on the dash I can live with

Could it be something else? The circuit seems extremely simple and it basically a switch connected through wires to the airbag control.

Has anyone had this issue before?

I attached a couple of random photos under my seat:
