Airbag not linking to scanner

So my 2013 tacoma has the passenger seatbelt light on and the airbag lights on. I've tried the battery reset, checked the connectors under the seats and finally bought a scanner that reads srs. It says linking error when I hook it up. The obd2 and abs parts all link up. Went to a friends and checked their vehicles and it would read the srs codes. Have any of you ran into this before? How do I fix it? Thanks in advance.

 

What model scanner are you using?

I should have said a code reader not scanner
