    alright you sons a bit€h3s I got a doosey.
06 taco double cab TRd, no side curtain airbags
    Airbag light SRS on
Shorted pins 4 & 13 on ODB II
    Got code 51
Checked clock spring as its a known issue ( my truck not under recall) had a blue pin open on orange air bag connector.
Replaced clock spring all pins check good.
    Still have SRS light on.
Tried to clear code using rs-36 in service manual - no worky
    Anyone experience this?
Also anyone know of a code reader that can clear SRS codes?
I don't pay people to fix my truck(there's always another way) so please dont recommend dealership
    Love, Ryan

My '08 seatbuckle sensor/connection had its moments and the airbag light came on every now and then because of it... worth a shot

Edit: or one of the seat sensors? Could get lucky and it be a super easy fix like that

image.jpg So 51 could be 4 possible things. I thought the open on the orange connector was the problem. Do y'all know if the problem was fixed with the new clock spring does the fault just clear or do I have to have a diagnostic tool reset it?
    Thanks

You do not need to reset it. If the problem is fixed, the SRS light will turn off with the rest of the gauge check at start up.

Those connectors are very touchy. The ECU checks for continuity of every sensor/squib on start up. If the resistance is wrong, you get the light (code 51).

Youre killing me here with the bad news. I'd hate to have one of those other problems as they sound like money and I spent all mine on booze and hookers and then I wasted the rest

    What money?

Take that steering wheel bag out and re seat the connectors.

I do hate the double safety catches on the things. I've been tempted to just solder the things and be done with them.

Thanks for the responses. I have reseated them more than a few times. Not sure how to narrow down the other problems
