Getting triple bypasses and the coilovers will have very little valving as the bypass does all the work…coilovers are basically coil carriers at this point. Shock tower is already gusseted with TC gussets and the shock hoops are in the garage waiting for some steel-it. They will go on this weekend too.

we're gonna have some fun trucks that will be hard to keep up with. next trip to JD might be a longer stint than anticipated. Probably start phase 2 (power, safety and reinforcement).

Because they were built in the image of the fabricator….so I was told.

I'll start by saying the steering feels as if its got stock tires again..pretty light steering. The biggest change and the whole reason for this is to get rid of the steering wheel bumping around when you hit shit....speed bumps, pot holes, curbs...well those are @kasnerd items.....for the rest of us constantly fighting the wheel off road...those days are gone!

Install is pretty easy...easier if you still have a core support...I dont so mods were in order. The pump has some spacers on the top bolt..front and back to put the pump into the correct position. They are a little tricky to get in there ....but the instructions specificlly state its a pain.
The hoses are actually a bit of work...mainly the high pressure hose. It has a 45* fitting and a 90* fitting....so ya gotta clock them right to fit without twisting the shit out of the hose. The clamps for the low pressure hoses are the pinch type (like the stock CV boot clamps) so make sure you have the tool to pinch them...Home Depot sells them. I got mine at Oreilys...it was a load of shit...I had to take a grinder to it to make it work properly.

Was the install pretty straightforward and easy? Cost is outside my wheelhouse atm, but someday...

You just drain the existing system, clamp in the new hoses, drop the old PS pump and install the new new stuff? In a nutshell, I assume.

Yup that’s pretty much it. Draining the system of as much of the old stuff as possible is important. I actually did it 3 times to get it to the point where I was happy with it. Buy plenty of the PS fluid that is recommended.

No. The new fluid is pretty much clear…Maybe a touch of yellow in it. But if you don’t get all the old fluid out it will turn red.

The other option is swepco 715 (Harry's suggestion) since these are race pumps.

Well a few little items have changed recently....my shocks finally arrived!!
    51539493325_78ba4343f9_o.jpg

As you can see in the picture above I also installed the JDFab inner fenders to replace my blown up stock inners. These things are worth every penny. They allow much more tire clearance in every direction. The install is pretty straight forward with the hardest part being removing all the old stock shit. They are made to adapt to the stock core support which I dont have but I was easily able to adapt them to my homebrew core support.

    The old
    51514134704_2e71c26410_o.jpg

All cut out. The yellow line is where the final cuts were made for install.

    Installed

    51518201994_834f4c607a_o.jpg

All the parts reinstalled to the inner fenders. For the ABS module I took the mounting bracket off the old fenders and mounted it to the new inner fenders. The air pump I just matched drilled the existing bracket to the inners fenders and bolted it down...on the driver side I used rivnuts to attach my battery disconnect plate and accessory fuse panel plate. Fuse box picks up a plate built into the inner fenders. Though you need to fab up a bracket of some type to support the top of it...i'm currently using a tie wrap
    51522146770_90ef90d15a_o.jpg

This is a pic of a plate I made to support the top of the inner fenders. It connects up to a tube used to hold the hood latch pins which is welded to my tubed core support. It was going to be a temp fix for wheeling trips the last 2 weekends but its working well enough to stay permanent for now.
    51543443492_84a364578a_o.jpg

All I can tell you is the front is friggin bullet proof at this point. Between the LCA pivot kit, slide rack kit, howe steering pump kit, the +4 LT kit all produced by JDFab and King coilover and secondaries it is performing way beyond what I expected. I have 4 friends drive it offroad and the reaction has all been the same..."giggles and holy shit" as they got out of the truck.

Are the hood pins just a redundancy to the factory latch? I see the factory stuff is still there. I assume it's a peace of mind addition?
