    Have a feeling it's gonna be more trouble than its worth, but who knows lol. I'm thinking I can get some sort of plug to put in the fender inlet that will screw on and off easily enough but also be water tight. So it's a quick bend over and screw something in for a water crossing or standing out in the rain staring at the pond that is my commute home. Might have to modify the inlet to the CAI box to make such an inlet...

    The only issues I've heard people having is the CAI box partially collapsing during boost...I don't imagine I'll be going into boost much if I'm crossing water lol

    Hmmm ok, well I'll have to see where I'm at once I get everything installed and make the decision to get it if I need it.

    For the record, the road in to the closet gate to the refinery I work at floods during high tides and during rainy season there's about 2 100 foot sections that flood over with slightly running water about 2 feet deep or so. I can ford it just fine in my 2WD and keep it down to about 10-15 mph, but I always cringe the entire way, hoping I don't hear that sudden water suction sound and watch everything turn off.

    For the record the only other gate is about 5 miles south and depending on traffic 10-20 minutes longer, then I have to drive back up through the refinery again. So it's not really worth the peace of mind if have to add twice the commute and rack up almost twice the mileage, ya know?

    Anyhoo, I'm not overly worried, but for the amount of money I'm putting into the truck, I'd like to have a little insurance on the engine for when I do have to go through that water. If there's anyone here that has an SC and this snorkel and has run at full boost without any problems, please let me know! That'll be the tipping point for me :)

    Didn't mean to insinuate it would be an issue. I was wondering why you would run a CAI with a snorkel which is effectively a CAI.

    It could be a CAI but I also disagree that it is because there's so many turns in the tubing that by the time it gets to the engine it's probably not as cool. But you could also argue the ram effect from being up top. Point is, for me, I don't want to use the stock intake, planning on an AFE intake or AirAid since I hear they have the largest in take piping...and during every day driving I would need to have the snorkel, so I'd want max boost and cold air slamming in there from the fender...but during the wet months I'd like to be able to block off that fender inlet and run the snorkel to prevent suckling up any water from puddles and such (won't have inner fender liners anymore)

    Its doing what it is supposed to do. precipitation at the rear and it will melt down and flow out the drains at the bottom.
