Guys, my first post here and probably not the smartest, but was looking at this for a while and not sure I understand the benefit of waiting so many months. You can buy this snorkel for $372 with free shipping with apparently 5% discount, plus military discount online and they have it in stock. Why does everyone go through this trouble, especially mahaloTaco who was kind enough to set this up for $20-30 savings a head? What I am missing here? Sales tax I guess for the SoCal crowd? Sorry, I am just confused....

To be honest, I have always wondered what group buys are about. So I decided to make one myself. It really has opened up my perspective of global trade. Another thing is that I probably wouldn't have talked to guys like @HooliganRoams or @bski22 or @nastyneight or @Garfish307 or @Texoma ...the list goes on... if it wasn't for this group buy, I would have tried to fit my fiberglass onto my all pro bumper. @HooliganRoams saved me the trouble and pointed out his notching of the glass.

I have learned a lot and the shipment hasn't even arrived yet.
I want to set up a workshop type thing where we could have a snorkel install party.

Today I made the attempt to install an Airflow Snorkel with Fiberglass and it worked.

Took about 4 hours with a heat gun, a vice, a grinder, and some balls.

So do you mold the glass over the snorkel?

My one concern with this mod is how bad the wind noise is for the unit. Currently I'm a completely stock set up save for a shell, so if it's really obnoxious it could be a concern. Anyone with experience to chime in would be good on this.

I don't experience any extra wind noise with mine.

My tires are so loud I can't hear anything but that. Once I get this snorkel I still won't be able to tell you about wind noise since all I can hear is tires howling.

Only once did I notice it. It was 40+ mph winds on top of me driving 80 mph through the desert on my way to Lake Tahoe. I got behind a Semi and was good lol
