Too many variables to make a blanket statement. Water content, different layers, depth, tires, and driver input lead the list....

    Amen.

I go to 18 for comfort more than anything else. 1000' out here could be the difference between 6" of packed ice snow or +2' of fluffy powder in the mtns.

The whole objective is not to get stuck and possibly put yourself in a worse situation. You don’t want to ride on top of hard crusty snow for a long distance, eventually you may break through, high center and your stuck. You want skinny tires with chains, cut through the snow and go as far as you can slowly. When you get to the point your getting high center, your done, you back out.

Airing down driving on top of the snow gets so many people stuck because the temp is always changing and so is the snow surface.

One of the fun things I love about snow wheeling is having to know what snow is drivable, and what snow you are going to get stuck no matter what. It is always different!@

Makes it so much fun :cookiemonster:

I cant wait for this spring to put my Cooper ST/Maxx 255's back on and see the difference they can do with the deeper dense spring packed snow.
