Are the Pirellis for the 4runner? Or the Taco?

I went with the no TPMS and ignoring the idiot light option on the new wheels and I'm pretty satisfied.

I was thinking about selling the Toyos and going with a lightweight, mild AT for winter and longer road trips as well.

    What size/load range Pirellis?

It's proven that 5th gen T4R TPMS sensors don't work with 3rd gen Tacomas. The 4runner sensors are 315MHZ and send a ok/not ok signal only, no pressure data.

3rd gen Tacoma TPMS transmit at 315MHZ. The signal contains pressure data and I assume a boolean low pressure signal.

Will the TPMS sensors from the Tacoma work with the 4runner?

    LT265 70 17 E

If the 265 70 17 SL was available I could have saved 6lbs a tire

Are you trying to use one set of tires and swap them back and forth?

I was going to say they seemed a little heavy if they were a stock 4runner size, but LT/E explains that.

I was getting 13mpgs for a while now with the coops, I scheduled an alignment for Friday and am getting new 255s tomorrow, so I put my stock wheels and tires on and removed skids.. I got 18mpg driving into a stiff wind on my way to work today.

13, OUCH! Hopefully the Coursers will be a bit better. If not, those Pirellis will.

This is a stupid idea but if the taco ones don’t work with the t4r, you could run one set in the normal spot and use the band things rich used for his tmps to have a second one mounted in the same tire. That’s assuming they don’t interfere with eachother.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...nk-of-shellshock.646946/page-54#post-23609583

or do like everyone else and make a tpms bomb for the back seat to get rid of the light.

After my ride home tonight, I'm considering putting new tpms sensors in my stock wheels and running my stock setup for daily driving. I forgot what a pleasure that truck is to drive. Peppy acceleration, smooth ride, descent handling, it's like a new truck. I'll probably throw the spacers back on because the tires look anemic with the stock wheel stance.

I'll put the pirellis on the 4runner with new 4runner tpms when I take it off road. Still run stock 4runner w+t for daily. Don't want to loose the 21-22 mpgs.

My parts guy told me about a wheel on the market with 2 valve ports machined. I think the theory is 1 for fill 1 for gage. Cool idea, but I didn't dig too deep into that solution

I'm pretty much on the same page.

After the novelty of the MT's wears off, I might sell the Toyo AT3's and get some SL rated 285's for those wheels. The Yokohama Geolander AT is only 46# at 285/70/17 and probably sufficient for most of my use. The mud tires will probably stay on for the summer, though.
